Autumn’s Harvest

Morning dew glistens grass,

shadows stretch across lawns

Days shorten,

compact summers lower rays

Mellow light

gives full-flavoured hours

Life is laidback, resting

before winter’s chill

Time meanders,

animals slow to a tranquil pace

Apple trees evince red fruit

as crisp as the early morning air

their sweetness rolls

over taste buds delectably

Luscious days to relish
