Chewing the Fat Words

There are days when words

spin fairy floss

sweet on the tongue

gossamer in the air

warm coals in the heart

Some words

are harder to swallow,

they are spat with venom,

curdle goodwill,

ignite old arguments,

split friends asunder

Some have to be chewed hard

to digest

in the dictionary of life
